To realize its vision of delivering cost-effective refining solutions to the industrial world, Black Briar Investments LLC has assembled a team of highly qualified professionals who are subject matter experts in the areas of both business and precious metal refining. The group is led by Steven Forsyth, the managing partner, who is supported by a small number of key staff members expertise focused in the areas of operations support, business development, and cost analysis. In addition, Black Briar Investments employs the services of several technical experts who are recognized authorities in the fields of metallurgy, chemical analysis, and industrial engineering to provide customized solutions to the refining process. Listed below are profiles of just a few of our principal officers, however, at Black Briar Investments we recognize the lifeblood of our organization is the everyday machine operators delivering unparalleled support at our processing site to ensure our customers’ requirements are met on-time and in good order.

Steven Forsyth – Managing Partner
Steven is a West Point engineering graduate with over 20 years of operations experience. Steven is responsible for securing financing, supervising the company’s administrative and accountability requirements, and coordinating with the company’s investors to ensure their strategic vision is translated into operational results. Steven’s ability to effectively organize both people and resources is critical to achieving the company’s long-term goals and sustaining Black Briar’s future growth.

Lee Walz – Operations Manager
Lee is a University of Delaware graduate who has a lifetime of experience managing successful business franchises. Lee is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of Black Briar’s PGM refining business including shipment scheduling, sales negotiations, and personnel management. Lee’s unparalleled energy and drive is crucial to navigating the various precious metals markets and meeting the rigorous daily demands of PGM processing.

Andy Judy – Purchasing Manager
Andy is a West Virginia graduate with a B.A. in Criminology and M.A. in International Affairs, who has spent most of his career working in the intelligence field. Andy is responsible for researching areas to source additional materials and identifying new vendors in emerging markets. Andy is fluent in both Spanish and Arabic, and his precise, methodical approach in reviewing potential suppliers is a tremendous asset to Black Briar Investments.

Andrew Donnelly – Contracts Officer
Andrew is a Vanderbilt graduate with a focus on business, leadership, and organizational effectiveness. Andrew is responsible for the identification and analysis of long-term contract opportunities and has over ten years of experience coordinating various business ventures including commercial construction and government consulting contracts. Andrew’s client engagement skills and detailed understanding of cost projections has been instrumental in drafting several successful business proposals.

Jacob Embree – Warehouse Supervisor
With over 12 years’ experience as a frontline supervisor Jake is probably the hardest working member of the Black Briar Team. Jake is responsible for organizing and administering the daily work schedule of the processing center, as well as maintaining accountability over its various specialized tools and equipment. Jake leads by example in everything he does; his dedication and unmatched work ethic serves as an example to everyone on his team and has allowed him to forge a first-rate processing team that believes it can overcome any challenge it meets.
